Goodonya Jacinta! I think much of what you said lays bare the facts that all too many so-called “new history” types don’t want to even recognize, all because the truth is hard for them to take, why? Because these trollops are “yes-manning” the elitist likes of self-styled activists Marcia Langton, Robby Thorpe, Lydia Thorpe, Isabelle Coe, Gary Foley, Michael Mansell, and Warren Mundine etc…..people who essentially deny the fact that alcoholism and drug addiction have nothing to do with “white” vs “black”. The fact that substance abuse is endemic across many central and north western Australian communities like Wadeye and Yuendumu has virtually nothing to do with the fact that the vast majority of these people affected by such a henious blight are Aboriginal. To insinuate that race has anything to do with the propensity for addiction and addiction related violence is in and of itself racist. The real problem is a chronic communal dysfunctionality fuelled in part by the victim mentality that many so-called activists like Lydia Thorpe and co. try to bolster and keep alive and well, and the substance abuse along with it by encouraging people from these communities to soak themselves in the kinds of pop-culture fads and which only promote and reinforce drug culture in place of authentic local or traditional culture. These pop-culture ideologues like Archie Roach, Jessica Maubouy and many others of similar ilk try to blend the recreational taking of illicit substances and boozing up with the notion of ‘having a good time’ and that this somehow presents to traditional cultures of these communuties no conflicting value set when in actual fact, the two are completely incompatible, and never-the-twain should they have met.

And to get matters straight, these people who push the sub-culture of recreational drug-taking and alcohol consumption are the REAL colonizers and they ought to be stopped invading these communities and lives with their filth. There are plenty of them hiding behind good-looking intellectual apologetics for the ‘hard time’ Aboriginal people go through in and amidst all of this and they often ignore the fact (even though sometimes ignorantly), that alot of new leftist style activism does much harm in promoting albeit often behind the scenes, a very liberal I’ll say, laissez faire approach to indulging in the sub-culture of recreational drug-taking and alcohol consumption, all with the strident belief nonetheless that indigenous cultures need to be respected, revered, and preserved. Ironically, and not surprisingly, what these people are doing in their own recreational endorsement of drug-culture and related so-called “libertarian” social morès is helping inadvertantly, to destroy the beauty and spiritual integrity of such cultures they claim to be all for upholding and honouring. How do I know this? I used to be involved in this scene myself, that’s how I know it. Yes, my perspective is essentially an insider’s perspective, where the knowledge expounded here is coming from personal lived experience in these circles of so-called activism. I have long since exited this platform as I saw through its deceptive veneer some time back, after I had given up drug-taking and the hedonistic lifestyle that went with it. I have lived for many years since that time with the horrific aftershocks of having being down so low in such a decrepid way of life back then when I looked at the world through a cynical lens of morbid hypercriticality, even to the point of projecting such heartless judgemental negativity upon those parts of our world that are truly good-willed and life-oriented.

And so, there is no doubt about it, the so-called “new left” mentality is a dark and dangerous descent into an underworld that is intrinsically evil despite the fact that on the surface, there appears to be this promotion of “solidarity with the oppressed”, and campaigns for human and ecological freedom. These new lefties and their supporters no doubt form a large subset of the majority of “YES” campaigners for the Voice to Parliament Referendum to be held nationwide in October of this year. And sure, there are no doubt many who initially enter this space of this scene, of neo-sociopolitical radicalism, who are at the outset at least, filled with good intentions and idealistic aspirations to help change the world for the better. And I too was one such person. But hey, these aspirations don’t always last long. For if your personality is anything like mine was when I was 17 or 18, you would sooner or later be finding yourself intoxicated on a regular basis by the ‘exuberant fun’ of going on pub crawls and going to parties that state as their aim, ‘a fundraising appeal for this cause and that’, but really are merely an excuse to binge booze and experiment with drugs…..oh, and then there’s the occult for an extra-leaverage of ‘spiritual highs’. Not a good mix at all. In fact, a very dangerous concoction to be frank. Hence, my lengthy life-lesson of learning all the ins and outs that go along with all this shit. It’s, at the end of the day, RUBBISH, for all its worth. Hence my decision to vote “NO” in the up and coming Voice to Parliament Referendum.

But the best bit for me about all of this is having learnt the difference between this rubbish and how to find the real, authentically superb BEST in life well after I had thrown all my drug-addictions and horrific hedonism that accompanied those addictions on the scrap-heap. And that’s the part of the story I will leave for the telling another time.

So, how come disappointed??
